MARIANNE SOISALO

Marianne is the founder of this project and is manifesting her childhood dreams of living in a forest and protecting its inhabitants. She studied zoology at King's College London and continued her master's at the University of Cambridge studying jaguars in the Pantanal.

 

Mari is forming a group of professionals with her at the NGO, seeking funding for sanctuary enclosures to be built on her land, in order to re-home some pumas in need and regional birds that need to be reintroduced into the wildOnce the project has achieved its first stage, she will continue to contact sponsors to buy more land for this jungle conservation adventure in this magical valley that she plans to turn into a private national reserve.

Veterinary doctor graduated from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, works in the area of conservation medicine and integrative medicine for domestic and wild animals, combining practices that incorporate acupuncture and phytotherapy.

She has worked in wildlife conservation projects in the Pantanal and Cerrado biomes, in research projects in road ecology monitoring road-killed wildlife and also in environmental education projects. She is currently helping with the initial stages of the project and is our veterinarian in charge of the Sanctuary.

sandra cavalcanti

Sandra M. Cavalcanti has a multidisciplinary background in agronomic and livestock engineering with a specialization in conservation biology, a topic in which she has been working for over 30 years. She holds a master's degree in wildlife management and a doctorate in ecology and conservation, both from Utah State University, in the United States.

 

She coordinated several research projects, including one of the pioneering studies on the use of radiotelemetry with GPS technology in Brazil.

TIAGO FALÓTICO

Biologist and primatologist, graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo, master and doctor in Experimental Psychology (Animal Behavior) from the Institute of Psychology of the University of São Paulo. He is a Young Researcher (FAPESP) at the USP School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities, leading the research project "Cultures in capuchin monkeys". Participated as a post doc researcher in the "Primate Archeology" project at the University of Oxford.

He founded and operates in the Neotropical Primates Research Group (Neoprego) association, with the objective of maintaining long-term studies on Neotropical primates and disseminating research results to the population, mainly to people who live in the research sites.
