We are located in Alto Paraíso de Goiás, close to the Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park, one of the world's hotspots for biodiversity and endemism.

Its landscape is of rare beauty, in which the countless waterfalls, the mosaic of rupestrian and humid fields, forests and paths stand out, as well as a very varied fauna, mainly due to the altitudinal gradient, which enriches its biological diversity.

Chapada dos Veadeiros is home to unique plant species and formations, hundreds of springs and water courses, rocks over a billion years old, in addition to landscapes of rare beauty that change throughout the year.

The Chapada dos Veadeiros region is located in Goiás, covering municipalities such as Alto Paraíso de Goiás, Cavalcante, Teresina de Goiás and Colinas do Sul, which are home to the National Park of the same name.

We are part of the Cerrado biome, which is the second largest biome in Brazil, covering about 23% of the national territory and covering an area of 2 million km². It is one of the most biodiverse regions in the world. It is the biome with the lowest percentage of areas under strict protection. Only 8.21% of the territory's total area is legally protected with conservation units; one of the reasons that make the Cerrado the Brazilian biome that has undergone the most changes due to human action.

Currently, the area is under intense predatory exploitation: countless animals and plants are at risk of extinction and it is estimated that 20% of the region's native and endemic species no longer occur in protected areas.

That's why your collaboration can make all the difference.

Please, help us buy more land for the Sanctuary!
